CashAssistant is designed to help count cash drawers, store float and shift deposits in a retail environment.

Installation and Basic Usage

  1. Extract the contents of the .ZIP file to a folder on your hard drive.
  2. Execute CashAssistant.exe.
  3. The first time CashAssistant is run you will be presented with the Settings page. Fill out the settings panels according to your needs, and click Done.
    1. To access this page again, run the program using the settings mode switch (see Command Line Parameters, below).
  4. The different pages of the interface are listed to the left. Click or use PAGE UP/DOWN to switch between them.
  5. When counting a register, pressing Save Total stores the current total separately, allowing you to manipulate the individual denomination totals (to balance the draw back to its original float) without losing the original value.
  6. Counting your store's float in the Safe Count & Change Order screen allow you to click Generate Change Order to generate a printable change order form to fax to your bank.
  7. Clicking Print in the Petty Cash screen will generate a printable report of all petty cash changes made to date.
  8. Clicking Reset shift cash in the main menu will reset any Deposit, Safe and Draw counts currently recorded.
  9. You do not need to explicitly save your work when using CashAssistant; data is saved automatically.

/s Show the Settings page when CashAssistant is launched.

Updating

  1. When launched, CashAssistant will automatically check if a newer version is available.
  2. If a newer version is available, the update link will report "vX.X.X.X available! Click to download.".
  3. Click the update link to start downloading the newer version in the background.
  4. When the background download has completed, you will be asked to close CashAssistant to apply the update.
    1. If you select No, you will still be able to apply the update later by clicking the link.
  5. If you select Yes, CashAssistant will close, apply the update, and re-launch.
